FAQ: Autodesk ID and changes to the Payapps Login Experience

Information about why Payapps is introducing Autodesk ID and how it will affect your log in experience.

Updated over a month ago

As a part of our ongoing efforts to enhance security and streamline your user experience as an Autodesk customer, Payapps will be introducing Autodesk ID to our login process.

Starting from the 1st of February 2026, we will be enabling Autodesk ID to our customer base. This transition has been planned and staggered to ensure the disruption to your Payapps experience is as small as possible. Communication regarding when this will occur for your account will be provided via email.

For customers who already have an existing Autodesk ID, this will be a seamless transition and your Payapps log in experience will match how you log in to other Autodesk products.

For users who do not have an Autodesk ID, as a part of this process one will be created for you, and detailed instructions will be provided on how to activate your Autodesk ID account and complete the set-up steps.

Why Autodesk ID?

  • Enhanced Security: Autodesk ID uses industry-leading security measures to protect your account and your data, ensuring that your information remains safe.

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Adds an extra layer of security by requiring not just a password but also a second form of verification, ensuring that only you can access your account.

  • Consistent Experience: Enjoy a seamless and consistent login experience across Payapps and other Autodesk services, making it easier to navigate between different tools and platforms.

  • Improved Account Management: Easily manage your profile, settings, and subscriptions through the Autodesk ID portal.

  • Payapps Product Development: Using Autodesk ID for login aligns us more closely with Autodesk’s suite of services and products.

What is the new experience?

Once Autodesk ID is enabled for your account, logging into Payapps will look like this:

Step One - Enter your email on https://my.payapps.com/login and click 'Next':

Step Two - This will open a pop-up window for Autodesk ID, enter your email into the 'Email' field and click 'Next':

For users who do not yet have an Autodesk ID, clicking next will prompt you to activate your account. If this will be necessary for you, detailed instructions with steps showing how to activate your Autodesk ID will be provided to you closer to your transition date.

Step Three - The next step will depend on what authentication method is set up on your account.

a) Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with email - This is the default authentication method for Autodesk ID. In this method an email with a 6-digit code will be sent to your email address. To proceed just enter the 6-digit code in the Code boxes:

b) Single Sign On (SSO) - If your organisation has SSO enabled, this is the authentication method used. To proceed, you will be prompted to enter your SSO login details:

Screenshot shows the Autodesk SSO window, this will instead show your organisation logo.

Autodesk ID has a number of other authentication methods available and if you have selected one of these alternate methods you will be prompted with that method instead of MFA (with email) or SSO as stated above.

If you would like to set up an alternate method, please log in and manage through https://profile.autodesk.com/

Step Four - Once you have completed step three through the method applied to your account, you will be logged into your Payapps account and be directed to the home page.
